Songwriting

I often find the logical, sensible, rational side of the world easily explained through words, but the creative, whimsical, fanciful thoughts and emotions that make up the majority of who I am are very near impossible to articulate. Songwriting makes sense for this reason. My music, in tandem with my poetry, communicates that which only words on a page cannot.

As a classically trained pianist, I am familiar with the structure and foundations of Western music; as a Chinese-born traveller, I cannot nor ever will shake off the influences of my Eastern roots. I think this allows me the gift of insight into creating universal music; this is what I strive to do as a singer-songwriter.
